AUTOMOTIVE CARPETS & FLOOR TRIM

The finish starts beneath your feet.

Carpeting contributes to both the appearance and the feel of an interior. From worn floor coverings to bespoke carpeting for a restoration, we work on the details that help complete the cabin.

A detail that brings the interior together.

Carpets rarely take centre stage, yet they cover a substantial part of a vehicle’s interior.

Their colour, texture, fit and finishing can affect how the cabin looks as a whole.

Gigi Auto Upholstery offers replacement carpets and mats, alongside individually tailored carpeting for restoration projects.

Whether the work is limited to a particular area or forms part of a full interior retrim, the floor covering should complement the surrounding upholstery.

  • Interior carpets

Worn or unsuitable carpeting can be replaced as part of an interior refurbishment. The material and finish are considered in relation to the vehicle’s existing trim.

  • Bespoke carpeting

Some projects call for carpeting made to suit the shape and character of a particular vehicle. The workshop’s documented Austin 8 restoration included hand-tailored wool carpeting fitted throughout the cabin.

  • Floor mats

Replacement mats can contribute to a coordinated interior finish. We can discuss the requirements of the vehicle and the materials involved.

  • Boot carpeting and trim

The boot need not be left out of a restoration. The Austin 8 project included newly trimmed boot panels and matching carpeting, extending the interior’s finish into the luggage area.

The right material for the right interior.

Carpet selection depends on the project.

An older vehicle may call for a more traditional appearance, while a modern interior may need a different colour, texture or finish.

We can discuss the available options with reference to the vehicle, its current trim and the result you want.

AUSTIN 8 · INTERIOR RESTORATION

Hand-tailored wool carpeting.

For the Austin 8 restoration, the cabin received new wool carpeting tailored in the workshop.

The floor covering was fitted over an underfelt rubber insulation layer and formed part of a wider interior project that also included new door panels, headlining and leather trim.

Matching carpeting and panels were used to finish the boot.

It is an example of how thoughtful carpeting contributes to a complete restoration.
